Our 4th of July tradition! The Hercules Dynamite 5K Run/Walk along the San Francisco Bay Trail!
Our race will start July 4th at 9am. We will run/jog/walk the newly opened Northern portion of the San Francisco Bay Trail from The Exchange to the top of the trail on Parker Ave in Rodeo and back.
The event will be a chip timed 5K run/walk limited to 250 entrants.
$50 adult general registration, elders & teens (11-18) are $40, and kids 10 and under are FREE!
Register by June 24th and your t-shirt size is set. Register after that date and sized race t-shirts will be passed out during Race Packet pickup on a first-come basis.
General registration can be found on Runsignup
food/info fair, community talent show, and parade in the waterfront
neighborhood of Hercules, CA.
The 5k family run/walk, the staging for the race will be at the Bay Trail on
Bayfront Boulevard and John Muir. This is a similar setup to what we did in July 4th 2023. All other event setup activities will happen will be early in the morning on July 4th at 7AM for run registration and race prep.
Participants will be instructed to come to the venue an hour before the race at
8:45AM. At this point, we encourage runners to do some warm up exercises and stretching. We plan to have music playing via a public address (PA) system for much of the event. The official race time will begin at 9:00AM and should
complete before 10AM.
Because of the 5k Race will take place on the Bay Trail, we expect that traffic and parking will be:
- Traffic will be heavier while we are staging early in the morning of July 4th.
- Parking is available on Bayfront Blvd and John Muir Parkway.
- More parking, although a bit farther, is available in the Alfred Noble Drive.
Pacific Avenue in Rodeo, and turning around at the end of the trail in Lone Tree Park. At the starting line, runners will begin on the trail head at Bayfront, headed north behind BioRad up till the northern most point of the Bay Trail at Pacific Avenue in Rodeo. At Lone Tree Park trailhead, runners will be instructed by volunteers to run back to the starting line to complete the 5k course. We expect that most runners will have completed the course in less than an hour at about 10AM. Others may take a bit longer, so we expect to keep the course open from 8:30AM to 11AM. The course will be monitored by Rotary and Interact volunteers.
